Samsung lcd 40" tv with a serious colour issue. 
Checked powersupply board for bad caps, checked cables were seated properly to T-con board, still no luck. Factory reset did not help either. Entered the service menu, find your combo here

and i found DDR option was set to "line" I changed that to "samsung" and everything went back to normal.

Symptoms – laptop is not charging, damaged cable close to charger casing.

Troubleshooting – visibly inspect cable for damage, check for DC output with multi meter.

Solution – pry open casing, desolder output cable, cut off damaged part and resolder.

Precautions – make sure it is disconnected from mains.

Tools required – vice, hacksaw, flat screwdriver, solder iron, solder sucker, solder, well lit and comfortable antistatic workspace.

Symptoms – channels changing by itself.

Troubleshooting – remove back cover, check for loose cables and bulging capacitors.  Disconnect the PCB behind buttons.

Solution – if the TV stops changing channels by itself when the PCB is disconnected, replace said PCB.

Precautions – unplug from mains, note that bigger capacitors can hold a charge even when mains unplugged. 

Tools required – Philips screwdriver, container to keep screws etc, well lit and comfortable antistatic workspace.

Easy way to make a CAT6 patch ethernet network cable

If you are running a long patch cable through walls etc, you will need to make your own.  For shorter patch cables I recommend buying the cable ready made.  With the bottom of the connector facing you, working left to right the colours are :-

1. white/orange, 2.  orange 3. white/green 4. blue 5. white/blue  6. green 7. white/brown  8.brown.

Tools required – RJ45 connectors, RJ45 crimping tool, Ethernet cable tester.
